INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC - FOOD

Requirements:

• Understanding of mechanical, electrical & pneumatic systems
• An understanding of electrical control systems, PLC’s, drives, motors & gear boxes.
• Candidate should have technical background and strong familiarity with machine maintenance.
• This role involves troubleshooting and ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently to support continuous production.
• The ideal candidate is skilled in mechanical repairs, understands food safety standards, and is proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
• Facility includes tablet press operation, semi-automated packaging lines including tablet filling, over wrapping and blister packing and integrated warehouse.
• Must be able to read and comprehend machine blueprints and manuals
• Must be able to work on ladders, work in tight areas as needed.
• Must be able to use standard shop power tools such as drill press, Sawzall and grinders.
• Able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair food processing machinery and mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Install and test new machinery or equipment upgrades as required by production needs.
• Ensure all installations meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and protocols to protect both the facility and its personnel.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacements.
• Suggest and implement improvements to equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

Experience: 3+ years as an Industrial Mechanic, preferable in a food manufacturing or related industry.

Education: High School,

Certifications: Any related certifications would be an asset.

**Ideal candidate will need to multitask at times, also may be asked to work overtime to complete a task if urgent. Also a valid drivers licence would be a plus.
