Job summary

Doman Building Materials Group in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a Maintenance Person to maintain and repair industrial equipment in a wood preserving plant. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose breakdowns, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Position is permanent full-time with typical 7:00am-3:30pm hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends. Compensation is $28-$30 per hour, with health and dental benefits and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience preferred
• Mechanical and welding skills preferred
• High school graduation
• Must have own steel-toed boots
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms)

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial equipment to operate a wood preserving plant.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery breakdowns.
• Adjust equipment; repair or replace defective parts with hand/tools.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Identify opportunities for safety, quality, and reliability improvements.
• Conduct periodic inspections and preventative maintenance.
