Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a hands-on maintenance team in Edmonton. You will install, service, and troubleshoot heavy mechanical equipment while prioritizing safety and reliability.

The role offers a balanced schedule with day and evening shifts, opportunities for ongoing training, and a supportive environment that values problem-solving and teamwork. Prior millwright experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pass fit-for-duty testing (medical, drug & alcohol)
• Lift up to 50 lbs as part of physical requirements
• Apprenticeship asset; options available
• Millwright Red Seal asset and safety certificates are a plus

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain heavy mechanical equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings
• Conduct tests and inspections for safe operation
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
• Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, parts replacement)
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Operate forklifts and other machinery for installations
• Use hoisting and lifting devices to position equipment
• Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Communicate maintenance procedures and issues to management

Industrial Maintenance Tech

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Shift overlap to cover morning and evening (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
• Alternating weekly between day and afternoon shifts (subject to discussion)

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and repair problematic equipment using diagnostic tools.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery to assist with installations.
• Use hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during setup and repair.
• Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Communicate maintenance procedures, issues, and concerns to management.

Qualifications

• Pass fit-for-duty testing, including medical, drug and alcohol, and a criminal record check.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as part of the physical requirements.

Education & Experience

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is an asset, but apprenticeship options are available.
• Millwright Red Seal is an asset.
• At least 3 years of full-time millwright work experience: Prior experience ensures proficiency without extensive training.
• Current safety certificates for the following are an asset
  • Energy Safe Canada Fall Protection
  • Energy Safe Canada Elevated Work Platform
  • Intermediate First Air
  • Confined Space Entry
  • H2S Alive
  • Skid Steer, Wheel Loader, Telehandler certificates

Technical Skills and Attributes
