Job summary

Dart Canada Inc. in Scarborough, Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to help ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. The role is based at the Scarborough manufacturing facility with shift flexibility across all shifts.

Responsibilities include maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding complex machinery, reading blueprints, and using ERP systems to keep accurate maintenance records. A valid Ontario Millwright license is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (preferred).

• Maintain, diagnose, repair, and rebuild complex machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspections.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support production changeovers.
• Use ERP systems to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Plant leadership.
• Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards.

• Location: Scarborough, ON | 2121 Markham Road, M1B 2W3
• Starting Rate: $38.26/hour (fixed & non-negotiable)
• Shift: 8-hour / COP Schedule | All Shifts Required

What You'll Do

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding complex machinery and mechanical equipment. Your day-to-day will include:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings
• Diagnosing mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspections
• Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery components
• Maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems
• Performing preventive maintenance and supporting production changeovers
• Using ERP systems to maintain accurate maintenance records
• Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Production, and Plant leadership
• Following all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards

What You'll Need

• Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
• 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (preferred
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tools
• Ability to pass a technical/mechanical aptitude test
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, climbing, standing, temperature variation)

Schedule & Union Environment

• The role follows an 8-hour / COP schedule
• Availability for all shifts is required
• Shifts are assigned based on union seniority and existing preferences
