Job summary

NB Power’s Fire Protection Program at Point Lepreau is looking for ERT Responders to join a dedicated team. You will receive advanced training and respond to fire, medical and hazmat events, while inspecting and maintaining emergency systems on site.

The role requires NFPA/IFSAC firefighter certifications, a Class 3 license with airbrakes, a Medical First Responder with CPR/AED, and prior firefighting experience. Security clearances and fitness testing apply.

Qualifications

• Must have NFPA/IFSAC Fire Fighter certificates at Level I and II.
• Medical First Responder with CPR/AED and NFPA 472 Awareness/Operations.
• Class 3 Driver’s License with Airbrakes, clean driving record.
• Security clearances and fitness testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency situations including fire, medical and hazmat.
• Inspect and maintain emergency-related systems and equipment.
• Work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Complete required drills, trainings and competency interviews.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

NFPA 1001 Level I Fire Fighter certificate (or IFSAC Level I)

NFPA 1001 Level II Fire Fighter certificate (or IFSAC Level II)

Medical First Responder with Advanced CPR & AED

NFPA 472 Awareness and Operations

Two years of experience as a volunteer or full-time Fire Fighter
