What You’ll Be Doing

As a Maintenance Technician 2, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, and tools like skill saws, propane torches, man-lifts, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment, ladders, lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries.

You will also handle general building maintenance such as overhead doors, construction repairs, roll carts, floor repairs, and second-level gates and doors. Light plumbing and carpentry tasks will also be part of your responsibilities.

Safety is our priority. You will ensure safe work practices and support our safety culture.

Your role is vital to the success of Staples’ supply chain operations.

What You Bring To The Table

• Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Ability to use manuals and procedures for maintenance and troubleshooting
• Willingness to be trained and certified to operate equipment like forklifts and electric pallet jacks
• Collaborative approach to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly adopt safety procedures and work safely
• Comfort working in a warehouse with seasonal temperature changes
• Basic English skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of related experience
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Willingness to work additional hours and overtime as needed
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
• Capability to lift, push, or pull 70-100 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years old

• Trade school background
