Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician

What you'll be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician 2, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment, ladders, lift equipment, jacks, chargers, and batteries.

You will also perform general building maintenance, including overhead doors, construction repairs, roll carts, floor repairs, second-level gates, doors, light plumbing, and carpentry as needed.

You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.

What you bring to the table:

• A mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics, including electrical schematics
• Ability to use vendor manuals and procedures to perform maintenance and troubleshooting
• Willingness to be trained and certified to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks
• An inclusive approach to colleagues and customers, fostering collaboration
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly adopt safety procedures and ensure safe work practices
• Comfort working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of related experience
• Ability to pass a drug screening, where legally permissible
• Availability to work additional hours and overtime as needed
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more
• Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years old

• Trade school background
