Job summary

Bombardier in Canada seeks an Industrial Engineer to join the Aerospace Canada team. You will apply advanced manufacturing methods for composite parts, leverage automation and robotics, and lead cross-disciplinary projects in a regulated environment.

You will coordinate teams, analyze drawings and GD&T, and ensure quality through continuous improvement and technology adoption. Fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of College Studies in Composite Materials and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automated Engineering Production.
  • Strong knowledge of design and manufacturing of composite parts.
  • Experience with automated systems, including robotics (Kuka), vision and man-machine interfaces.
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacture of composite parts or aeronautical components.
  • Ability to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Reduce cycle times, improve quality and reduce costs of parts used in aircraft manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for composite structural parts.
  • Improve processes for automated machine park including riveters, assembly robots and AFP robot.
  • Conduct reliability studies of processes; plan and monitor projects.
  • Write test plans and support their realization; participate in continuous improvement and production support.
  • Initiate problem solving and communicate results as technical documents.
  • Analyze nonconformities to implement technical solutions; research new technologies to improve processes.
  • Optimize current processes with latest market technologies and participate in R&D projects.
  • Assist in acquisition of new equipment.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Perform technical work to reduce cycle times, improve quality and reduce costs of parts used in aircraft manufacturing and assembly operations;

How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a Diploma of College Studies in Composite Materials and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automated Engineering Production;
  • You have a very good knowledge of the processes used in the design and manufacture of composite parts;
  • You have experience with automated systems, including robotics (Kuka), vision and man-machine interfaces.
  • You have a minimum of (5) years of experience in the manufacture of composite parts or assembly of aeronautical components;
  • You have a strong analytical mind and be able to understand the technical requirements for applying them to a manufacturing process.
  • You are able to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and have good communication and organizational skills.
  • You master the basic features of Catia V5;
  • You have a basic knowledge of FiberSim software;
  • Programming notions (VB, C, ...) and robotic experience are an asset.
  • You have work experience in a unionized environment;
  • You have good knowledge of dimensional / geometrical tolerancing (GD & T) and are able to analyze technical drawings;
  • You are able to write analysis reports;
  • You are able to express your ideas clearly and concisely;
  • You are able to manage multiple projects at the same time;
  • You have teamwork skills;
  • You demonstrate innovative spirit;
  • You show rigor and concern for quality
  • You are an independent, resourceful candidate who likes to take initiatives;
  • Have a good command of French and English language, written and spoken.
