Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our electrical installation team for a project involving the expansion of an existing sawmill in Surrey. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, and repairing various industrial electrical equipment as part of a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including motors, pumps, lighting systems, industrial I/O devices, electronic control devices, transformers, and distribution equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Plan and carry out electrical installations individually or as part of a team.
• Collaborate with other trades, operations personnel, and management to solve problems.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for improvements to equipment and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Red Seal Industrial Electrician.
• Familiarity with safe working practices regarding medium and low voltage industrial distribution equipment.
• Experience with industrial controls, including Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, VFD Drives, and HMI.
• Knowledge of PC and PLC applications such as Excel, Word, RSLogix, and Step-7.
• Commitment to safety regulations and practices, including lock-out tag out, confined space, fall protection, and arc flash.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Dual ticket electrical/millwright or willingness to complete millwright apprenticeship considered an asset.
• Sawmill experience is an asset.
• Basic understanding of mechanics related to pumps, reducers, and packaging equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic electrical and mechanical components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
