Job summary

A leading company in equipment solutions seeks a Diesel Engine Mechanic for their Surrey location. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and repair power systems, interacting with customers while maintaining a commitment to safety and quality. Certification as a Diesel Engine Mechanic is essential, complemented by strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with Caterpillar products and component rebuilding is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line.
• Experience with component rebuilding and hydraulic testing a plus.

Job description

• Troubleshooting power systems equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Focus on power systems work
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes, site failure reports)
• Interact with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the Supervisor and Chargehand on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

Qualifications :

• Interprovincial Diesel Engine Mechanic, Automotive or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
• Minimum 1 year related experience
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line
• Engine and / or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset

Notes :

• This position is based on a 5x2 shift rotation based out of our Surrey, BC location
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective BargainingAgreement
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
