Introduction

McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville, New Brunswick Prepared Foods facility is seeking a full-time, permanent Licensed Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. The role involves setup and changeover of processing equipment, performing predictive and preventive maintenance, food safety verifications, troubleshooting, and resolving electrical/mechanical issues.

Job Title: Licensed Electrician / Apprentice

Hourly Rate: $25.83 - $34.42 depending on qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

• Fully licensed industrial electrician or recent graduate from a 40-week community college industrial electrical program
• Responsible for bringing own hand tools and CSA approved footwear
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with good organizing and coordinating skills
• Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Experience in manufacturing is an asset

• Observant, detail-minded, with a sense of urgency
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with PLCs and ability to interpret wiring schematics, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Successful completion of a 90-day training period

Responsibilities and Duties

• Electrical breakdown and proactive repairs of equipment
• Contribute to team efforts to correct and prevent electrical and mechanical problems, especially those affecting safety and food safety
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with production and maintenance teams
• Work closely with production to minimize downtime
• Follow safe work practices, including Lockout procedures and safe handling protocols
• Communicate repair issues effectively and promote food safety standards
• Report safety risks or problems
• Identify and document maintenance issues
• Promote continuous safety improvements
• Monitor equipment condition and provide feedback
• Use SAP system for work orders
• Work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Maintain excellent attendance
• Perform other duties as required
