Job summary

itec group Inc. in London, ON, is seeking a Licensed Industrial Electrician to join the maintenance team on a permanent basis.

This hands-on role focuses on preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and project work with automated production equipment and PLC-controlled systems. You will diagnose electrical issues, work with drives and motors, read schematics, and support equipment reliability to maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• Licensed to perform industrial electrical work.
• 5+ years in electrical maintenance within manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment; Allen-Bradley preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and the ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, controls and automation-related equipment issues.
• Use PLCs to diagnose faults and trace inputs, outputs and sequences.
• Perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance.
• Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, servo drives, sensors and instrumentation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and prints.
• Support automated and robotic equipment from an electrical perspective.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning.
• Participate in continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Update maintenance activities and completed work in CMMS.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtime.

Job description

Our client is an established global manufacturer with a newer, highly automated facility in the London area. The organization continues to invest in advanced manufacturing technology, equipment reliability and the growth of its local operation.

This is a modern, fast-paced production environment with a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement and preventative maintenance. With the facility continuing to grow, they are adding to their skilled trades team and looking for experienced Electricians who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting and working with automation.

About the Position

We are recruiting for a Licensed Industrial Electrician to join the maintenance team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on position with a good mix of preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and project work. You'll work with automated production equipment, PLC-controlled systems, drives, motors, safety circuits and industrial controls while supporting equipment reliability and production uptime.

The position is particularly well suited to an Electrician who enjoys troubleshooting and wants to continue developing their technical abilities in a newer, technology-driven manufacturing environment.

Daily Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, controls and automation-related equipment issues
• Use PLCs to diagnose faults and trace inputs, outputs and equipment sequences
• Perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance
• Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, servo drives, sensors and instrumentation
• Diagnose safety circuits, guarding and electrical control systems
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and prints
• Support automated and robotic equipment from an electrical troubleshooting perspective
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning
• Participate in continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
• Update maintenance activities and completed work within the CMMS
• Work collaboratively with production, maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtime

Qualifications

• 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician licence required
• 5+ years of electrical maintenance experience within automotive, heavy industrial or a comparable manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment; Allen-Bradley experience is preferred
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives, motors, sensors and industrial control systems
• Comfortable troubleshooting safety circuits and automated equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
• Robotics exposure is an asset; programming experience is not required
• CMMS experience is an asset
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work effectively within a team environment
