Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking skilled Formwork Carpenters for the DOW FSP2Z project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This role focuses on safe, precise formwork construction on an industrial site.

You will interpret drawings, set up formwork, perform cutting and shaping, and mentor apprentices while upholding Aecon's safety culture and zero-injury commitment. Competitive hourly wages apply with overtime per the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Formwork Carpenter in industrial construction.
• Able to lift and handle materials up to 25 kg.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications.
• Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials).
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
• Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue.
• Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.
• General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
