Clean Harbors in Fort McMurray, AB is hiring Oilsands Sandblasters or Blasting Machine Operators to join a safety‑driven team at CNRL Albian. The role involves abrasive blasting, pot setup, and pressure washing while maintaining safety standards on site.

Candidates should have a valid driver's license, 2+ years in abrasive blasting, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. The position offers full benefits after 30 days, RRSP matching, camp and flights from major cities, and opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License (Class 5) with clean abstract; Class 3 asset.
• Minimum 2 years in abrasive blasting setting; familiar with mobile blast equipment and safety procedures.
• Experience in oilsands is an asset.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Work at heights; experience with JLG/crane with man basket.
• Valid First Aid, H2S Alive and CSO certificates (proof required).
• Team-oriented and safety-focused environment.
• Ability to work day and night shift on a 14/14 rotation.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and adhere to safe work practices.
• Remove dirt, paint, grease, and debris from surfaces.
• Set up and operate blast pot, spray pump, or similar equipment.
• Fill blast pots and maintain blasting equipment; perform repairs as needed.
• Assist with painting, spray application, or brushing as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment and solve problems in real time.
• Complete all required paperwork and field level risk assessments.
• Attend daily safety meetings and work with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

Job description

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray, AB is looking for Oilsands Sandblasters or Blasting Machine Operators to join their safety conscious team at CNRL Albian!
This is a 362 Teamsters Union position. Full rate at $35.81/hour.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Remove dirt, paint, grease, debris and other built-up material from surfaces
• Set up and operate a blast pot, spray pump or similar equipment
• Filling blast pots, maintaining blasting equipment with repairs as needed
• Assist with painting, spray application or brush & roll as needed
• Problem solving in real time and trouble shooting various equipment
• Completes all required paperwork;
• Performing field level risk assessments;
• Attends daily safety meetings;
• Working as a part of a team with customers, coworkers & supervisors;
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management.

Qualifications

• Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract required; Class 3 would be an asset.
• Minimum of 2-years working within abrasive blasting setting; Familiarity with mobile blast equipment, power tools, & safe operating procedures
• Experience working in the oilsands an asset
• Ability to lift 50lbs regularly throughout the day;
• Able to work at heights, ability to work from JLG & crane with man basket is a must.
• Valid First Aid, H2S Alive and CSO certificates (will be required to provide proof prior to first day). Training can be arranged.
• Working under minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment.
• Ability to work day & night shift on a 14/14 shift rotation.
• Capable of working outside in various weather conditions.
