Scotiabank’s Indigenous Wealth Solutions (IWS) Trust Officer role focuses on managing a portfolio of Indigenous accounts, delivering tailored fiduciary, agency and custody solutions, and deepening client relationships with respect to cultural nuances. The position supports Scotiabank’s Truth and Reconciliation Plan through action and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver proactive, best-in-class client experience.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities without losing focus on key accountabilities.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to adapt to technology and reporting platform changes for operational improvements.
• Experience with Indigenous governance, community wealth models, and/or cultural protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, personalized client experience with accurate account administration and technical service.
• Assist Senior Trust Officer in building partnerships to deliver seamless solutions across financial services disciplines.
• Support revenue collection and forecasting; contribute to branch profitability.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities; maintain a robust prospect pipeline.
• Assist with acquisition strategies and strengthen relationships with retail branches to close fee opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards; communicate risks as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of legislative, administrative and economic issues affecting client accounts.
