Job summary

The College of New Caledonia in Prince George invites applications for a role reporting to the Manager, Indigenous Initiatives and Inclusion. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) specializing in Adult Education, Counselling, Human Services.
  • 3+ years in a post-secondary setting with Indigenous communities and partners.
  • Knowledge of BC Colleges, institutes, and university systems.
  • Lived knowledge of Indigenous education history and two-world awareness.
  • Strong organizational and independent work capability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for lifelong learning and access to education.
  • This position requires Aboriginal ancestry and meeting other qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information on CNC programs and services to Indigenous students to boost access and success.
  • Engage Indigenous students with an understanding of Indigenous history and contemporary issues.
  • Collaborate with Future Students to promote access and develop learning plans.
  • Develop outreach with high schools and agencies to connect Indigenous learners to CNC.
  • Create events with Indigenous Pathways and Projects and promote student success initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing to develop culturally appropriate informational materials.
