Job summary

APTN in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a fearless Reporter/Correspondent to pitch, shoot, write, post, and travel to spotlight Indigenous stories across TV, web and social.

You'll produce multimedia content with strong editorial judgment, an on-camera presence, and the ability to engage diverse audiences. This regular full-time role offers union salaried compensation and benefits in a newsroom that values Indigenous voices.

Qualifications

  • A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience in journalism.
  • A great on-camera presence and solid editorial judgment.
  • Strong ability to articulate issues relevant to Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch, shoot, write, post and travel to spotlight Indigenous stories across platforms.
  • Research, write and produce multimedia content for TV, web and social from idea to final cut.
  • Cover breaking news, interview sources and assess what matters to diverse audiences.
  • Be ready to fill in as Host for our National Newscast when applicable.
