Job summary

Tikinagan Child & Family Services is seeking a Child Care Worker in Pikangikum, Ontario. The role supports children in care, guided by the Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model and emphasizes community collaboration to raise wellbeing. Travel is required and relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with children and youth.
• Experience with raising a family, working with children, or being a part of community life in small remote communities.
• Willing to attend training as required.
• Knowledge of and lived experience with the Indigenous culture.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills and personal time management.
• Ability to speak Oji-cree or Ojibway is an asset.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Computer experience is an asset, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain driver’s license.
• Travel is a requirement.
• No remote work available.
• No relocation assistance available.
