The Link: Youth and Family Supports in Winnipeg seeks a Housing Mentor to support youth in care as they transition to independent living. You will help with budgeting, housing searches, and daily living skills within a youth-centered framework.

This is a full-time role requiring flexibility for days, evenings, and weekends, collaborating with a team to promote growth, safety, and successful placement outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring at-risk youth in one-on-one settings.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or equivalent.
  • Willingness to obtain Crisis De-escalation, Suicide Intervention, and Child Development training.
  • Ability to navigate crisis and support others under stress.
  • Knowledge of strength-based approaches and Indigenous culture (preferred).
  • Access to a personal vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

  • Builds positive relationships with participants to promote belonging and independence.
  • Help participants develop independent living skills (budgeting, housing access, education or employment).
  • Provide learning experiences aligned with individual care plans.
  • Support youth in cultural programming and community engagement.
  • Assist with searching for and applying for apartments; explain tenancy rights.
