Job summary

Life’s Journey Inc. is seeking a House Lead in Elie, MB, to maintain a safe home and directly support participants in the Residential Program. The role involves planning, monitoring, and communicating activities aligned with each participant’s plan.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in related residential care, strong clinical and administrative skills, and holds required background checks and First Aid certification. A reliable vehicle and willingness to engage in staff training are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience involving individuals with suicidal ideations or dual mental health diagnoses.
• Minimum three years in a related role supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Residential care experience and knowledge of Manitoba Licensing Regulations and Standards.
• Clear background checks: Abuse Registry, Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) and a valid Driver’s Abstract.
• First Aid Level 1 – Emergency certification.
• Ability to attend work regularly as scheduled.
• Strong language, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrate cultural knowledge and participate in agency training.
• Safe vehicle with proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe home environment and provide ongoing direct support to program participants.
• Participate in planning, monitoring and communicating activities per participants' plans.
• Provide training, mentorship and resources for Residential Support Mentors.
• Collaborate with the Residential Care Team and other staff.
• Foster positive interactions with collateral supports for participants.
• Uphold Workplace Health and Safety policies and agency goals.
