Job summary

Autism Nova Scotia is seeking an Independent Living Support (ILS) Coordinator in Halifax, NS. This full-time role supports Autistic adults in pursuing self-directed goals related to independent living, community connection, and quality of life.

You will lead planning, coordinate supports, and supervise Community Living Coaches within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework, emphasizing autonomy and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, Disability Studies, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of recent experience supporting Autistic adults in community settings.
• Experience in case coordination, resource development, or related human services work is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate program intakes, risk assessments, and individualized support planning.
• Complete Special Needs Requests to support participant goals.
• Support participant goal setting, strengths, and priorities for independent living and community inclusion.
• Conduct regular site visits and meetings based on participant goals.
• Provide staff coaching, mentorship, and supervision to Community Living Coaches.
• Collaborate with families and community partners to strengthen supports and inclusion.
• Maintain accurate participant records and progress documentation.
