Job summary

Saanich School District on the Saanich Peninsula, north of Victoria, BC, invites applications for a half-time temporary secondary teacher. The assignment is Semester I — Block 1 and 4, until the incumbent returns.

Candidates must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate, have five years of classroom or instructional support experience, and be committed to inclusive education and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Secondary) required.
• Post-Graduate Diploma or Master’s in Special Education with coursework including Student Exceptionality, Assessment for Special Education, Collaboration and Consultation in Special Education, Behavioural, Social and Emotional Needs, Assistive Technology, Teaching Students with Developmental Difficulties, Differentiating Instruction/Inclusive Classrooms, Advanced Assessment and Intervention.
• Five years of demonstrated successful classroom/instructional support teacher experience.
• BC Teaching Certificate valid.
