Job summary

The University of Alberta is seeking a Recreation Facility Operator I to manage day-to-day operations of Saville Community Sports Centre, Foote Field and the Saville Tennis Centre on South Campus in Edmonton.

Responsibilities include ice preparation, court maintenance, facility monitoring, and coordinating with event supervisors while supervising casual staff. The role requires flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends in a fully on-site environment.

Qualifications

• You will interact with clients to monitor facility access and ensure positive experiences.
• You may lead casual staff and coordinate with event supervisors.
• Ability to perform hazard assessment and data collection as part of operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of Saville Community Sports Centre, Foote Field and Saville Tennis Centre.
• Prepare and maintain curling ice and tennis courts; monitor facility safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise casual staff and coordinate with event supervisors.
• Open/close facility, set up/teardown, laundry, equipment maintenance.
• Participate in hazard assessment, asset management, incident reporting and data collection.
• Potentially serve as Supervisor on Duty and lead emergency management.
• Work a variable schedule including days, evenings and weekends.
