Job summary

City of Red Deer is seeking a Casual Facility Operations Worker 1 to maintain clean, safe recreation facilities and deliver high-quality customer service. The role includes supervising users, performing minor repairs, and handling routine administration and documentation.

The position requires Grade 12 or equivalent, 6 months relevant experience, a valid Alberta Class 5 licence, Intermediate First Aid, and a clear criminal record check. Weekend/evening shifts are included to meet facility needs.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months related experience in a similar public facility with related building maintenance components, preferably in a recreation environment.
• Certification in Intermediate First aid.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license required.
• Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (completed by The City upon employment)
• Able to work weekends, weekdays, evenings and shift work hours.

Responsibilities

• Facility Operation & Maintenance - Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility through custodial services and inspections; perform minor repairs and coordinate with service providers.
• Risk Management, Safety & Security - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards; monitor facility use and security; participate in safety programs.
• Communication & Customer Service - Deliver professional customer service; monitor schedules and bookings; communicate with staff and providers.
• Administration - Complete daily activity reports, logs, and documentation; monitor admissions and cash handling when assigned.
