Job summary

Saskatchewan Government Insurance is seeking a Driver Examiner for in-office work in Regina. You will assess applicants for driver’s licences across classes 1–7, conduct road tests, vision screening, and knowledge assessments, and provide coaching to improve test outcomes.

The role involves delivering safety education and preparing detailed reports on examinations. The position requires a two-year diploma, a Certified Driver Examiner designation, and a strong driving record in Canada or the USA.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma from a post-secondary institution in a relevant field (e.g., Business).
• Certified Driver Examiner Designation from AAMVA.
• Satisfactory driving record from Canada or the United States. Five years of Class 5 driving experience with at least two years in a post-GDL program.
• Licences/endorsements required: Class 1, Air brake, Motorcycle.

Responsibilities

• Administers written and oral examinations, vision screening, road tests, and endorsements; counsels applicants on improvement areas.
• Delivers driver safety presentations and prepares reports; investigates driver programs and creates DAAs for individuals with medical conditions.
• Collaborates with external partners and answers inquiries from the public and agencies regarding driver licensing and testing.
• Manages branch operations including fleet vehicles and examination center space and equipment.
