Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock invites students to a Product Management & Risk Technology Internship within the Global Risk Intelligence and Technology (GRIT) group. The role supports enterprise risk management solutions on the Archer platform, collaborating with Product Owners, stakeholders and technology teams.

You'll gain hands-on experience across planning, development, testing and continuous improvement of risk tech, exploring the full product lifecycle while driving operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in related field with strong academic performance.
• Interest in Product Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Technology, Risk Management, or Financial Services.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum, or other project delivery frameworks.
• Experience in data collection, preparation, analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Power BI and dashboard development.
• Knowledge of risk management, governance, compliance, or internal controls is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
• Highly organized with planning, prioritization and time management.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Owners in managing and maintaining product backlogs.
• Assist with documentation and refinement of business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct research to support product strategy and roadmap planning.
• Participate in agile delivery activities including sprint planning and reviews.
• Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Develop process maps, business documentation, and training materials.
• Support user research activities and solution validation exercises.
• Analyze user feedback and recommend enhancements to product functionality.
• Coordinate and support UAT planning, execution and results tracking.
• Develop and execute test cases to validate system functionality.
• Monitor defects, enhancements, and delivery milestones.
• Analyze product metrics and operational data to generate insights.
• Create dashboards, reports, and presentation materials for leadership.
