Job summary

Manulife John Hancock invites students to join the Global Risk Intelligence and Technology Summer Internship, a hands-on program supporting analytics, AI, automation and risk intelligence within GRIT. Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Risk Management, Finance or related field.
  • Interest in AI, ML, data analytics, automation and emerging tech.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, SQL or similar languages for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with data preparation, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar dashboarding and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support automation of monthly reporting within the risk and intelligence function.

  • Drive process improvements across data collection, analysis, and dashboard development to generate actionable insights.

Our Global Risk Intelligence and Technology Summer Internship offers hands‑on experience supporting the Global Risk Intelligence and Technology (GRIT) team. You will contribute to strategic initiatives that support proactive, intelligence‑led decision‑making across the enterprise while gaining exposure to real‑world business challenges within a global financial services organization. This role provides an excellent foundation for students interested in analytics, data science, machine learning, risk management, and emerging technologies, while offering a pathway to our Graduate Recruitment Opportunities (GRO) Program for a seamless transition into your career.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Support the automation of monthly reporting within the risk and intelligence function.

Required Qualifications:

Salary Range is Expected to be Between:

$46,800.00 CAD - $62,400.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro‑rated based on the length of the work term.
