Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Senior Risk Business Analyst to join its Corporate Risk Operations team. You will bridge business, data, AI and technology teams to shape Archer Risk platform requirements and ensure alignment with risk and compliance goals.

You will facilitate discovery sessions, refine backlog with the Product Owner, support Agile ceremonies, translate business needs into data attributes and reporting, and help drive efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
• 7+ years preferred for data-heavy or complex delivery environments
• Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in Agile environments such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
• Hands-on ability to use JIRA or equivalent Agile delivery tools
• Experience with Archer applications including workflows, data reporting, and end-use support
• Data visualization, analytics, reporting, or data validation experience
• BA/PM/Agile training or certification
• Experience supporting AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives
• Experience with cross-site virtual teams and vendors

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary business-facing point of contact for Archer Risk
• Triage Archer Risk incidents, service requests, data issues, and enhancement requests
• Develop understanding of Archer Risk and related applications, data structures, and workflows
• Lead requirement discovery sessions with stakeholders and document scope and risks
• Elicit and validate business, functional, data, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with Product Owner to refine and prioritize Agile backlog items
• Support Agile ceremonies and value delivery through backlog refinement
• Translate business needs into data attributes, mappings and reporting needs
• Analyze processes, data flows, and pain points to identify improvements
• Develop options balancing risk, compliance, feasibility and delivery capacity
