Job summary

Inn from the Cold is seeking a hands‑on Manager, Facilities & Building Operations in Calgary. You will lead a growing team, perform repairs, coordinate contractors and oversee preventative maintenance to keep facilities safe and welcoming for families, staff and visitors.

You will supervise front desk liaison coverage, manage the work order system, and drive safety and efficiency across two operations functions, with some after‑hours availability as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in facilities, building operations, property management or related field.
• Experience supervising janitorial, maintenance, or operational staff.
• Knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform minor repairs independently (painting, drywall, lighting, basic plumbing, carpentry).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a growing team of janitorial, facilities, and building operations staff.
• Perform and coordinate minor repairs and maintenance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and identify safety concerns.
• Manage a facilities work order system and prioritize requests.
• Coordinate contractors and specialized trades for larger repairs and projects.
• Ensure buildings, grounds, equipment and systems remain safe and in good condition.
• Oversee safety training and security protocols for staff.
• Manage budget for the Operations area.
