Job summary

Calgary Food Bank is seeking a Community Engagement Events Manager to lead our events and fundraising portfolio. You will guide the Community Engagement Events team, build partnerships with sponsors and schools, and drive strategies to increase food and funds donations through community initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, stakeholder management, and data-driven improvement, with regular evening/weekend events and a strong focus on donor stewardship.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, nonprofit management, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, fundraising, events, partnerships, or nonprofit development.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and coaching to Community Engagement Events team.
• Support onboarding, training, and professional development.
• Monitor workloads and prioritize objectives to meet department goals.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and accountability.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews for team members.
• Ensure fundraising activities adhere to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Lead annual performance planning and goal setting for the team.
