Cox & Palmer LLP in Halifax is seeking an Immigration Paralegal or Consultant to support the Immigration Practice Group. You will manage caseload intakes, prepare temporary residence packages, and file permanent residence applications.

The role emphasizes handling diverse immigration matters, coordinating with clients, and delivering accurate, timely work while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Paralegal diploma or equivalent and 3+ years’ experience in immigration paralegal work or RCIC.
• Experience managing complex immigration cases and providing end-to-end application support.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian immigration programs and pathways.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel); strong typing and dicta-transcription skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong client service.
• Self-starter who can work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Review, organize and analyze documents.
• Prepare immigration applications (temporary and permanent) including online work permit applications.
• Request and compile information from clients promptly.
• Maintain ongoing client updates and communications.
• Process large volumes of documents with organized email/file storage.
• Stay updated on changes in immigration law, regulation and policy.
• Utilize computer technology efficiently in daily tasks.
• Perform general office and clerical duties including billable and non-billable work.
• Other duties as required.
