POSITION OVERVIEW
The Immigration Paralegal provides paralegal support to the Immigration Practice Group. The role responsibilities include managing caseload intakes, preparing visa and work permit packages for review and filing visa applications for permanent residency.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, organize and analyze documents;
Accurately prepare immigration applications, both temporary and permanent, including online work permit applications;
Request and compile information and documentation from clients in a timely manner;
Maintain ongoing communication and provide status updates to clients;
Process large volumes of documents, with ability to use technology to store and organize emails and files;
Keep up-to-date with changes in immigration law, regulation and policy;
Utilize computer technology in an efficient and productive manner;
Perform general office and clerical duties, including billable and non-billable functions;
Other duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of paralegal diploma or equivalent, and 3+ years’ experience as an immigration paralegal;
Strong competency in the usage of MS Office (particularly Word, and Excel), paired with superior typing and dicta-transcription skills, and excellent attention to detail;
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines;
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service;
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative;
