Job summary

TreowGroup Recruitment, on behalf of our Niagara-based client in the construction industry, is hiring an ICI Construction Estimator. The role involves hands-on estimating for commercial, industrial and institutional projects, reviewing drawings, performing quantity take-offs and analyzing trade pricing to build comprehensive bids.

The position is on-site in St. Catharines with occasional travel in the Golden Horseshoe.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum two years estimating experience in the ICI sector.
• Ability to read blueprints and project specifications.
• Experience with estimating software including Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specifications to understand scope of work.
• Set up estimate files with trade breakdowns and summaries.
• Prepare trade lists, quantity take-offs and pricing for disciplines.
• Attend pre-bid meetings with architects and owners to review scope.
• Prepare preliminary project schedules during estimating stage.
• Review trade pricing for completeness and alignment with scope.
• Maintain communication with architect representatives and bidding trades.
• Track tender results and project awards.
• Support budgets, cost-control breakdowns and cash-flow at project start.
