• Familiar with Ontario construction practices and tendering procedures.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

Experience: 3+ Years in Local ICI Construction

Are you an experienced Construction Estimator looking for your next opportunity in the Colborne area? We are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Estimator to join an established construction team delivering Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) projects throughout Colborne and the surrounding region. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical estimating knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and proven experience preparing competitive and accurate estimates for ICI construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ICI construction projects, from preliminary budgets through final tender submissions.
• Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and material pricing for various construction scopes.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure complete and competitive pricing.
• Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process.
• Prepare and maintain detailed estimate breakdowns, budgets, and bid submissions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients throughout the tendering process.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and tender reviews as required.
• Support project handover from estimating to operations following successful contract awards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3+ years of construction estimating experience within the local ICI construction sector.
• Proven experience estimating ICI projects in Colborne or surrounding Ontario markets.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive tender submissions.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario construction practices, building codes, and tendering procedures.
• Proficiency with construction estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and related applications.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
• Experience working with a General Contractor or Construction Manager is strongly preferred.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field is an asset.

COMPENSATION & OPPORTUNITY
