Job summary

The City of Abbotsford is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician II to perform technical, building service, custodial and maintenance work across recreation facilities, including ice arena operations.

Ideal candidates have two years in ice-making equipment and refrigeration, valid certifications, and a willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in operation and maintenance of ice-making equipment and refrigeration and pool filtration systems, or equivalent.
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Ice Facility Operator (IFO) Certificate OR Refrigeration Plant Operator Certificate or BC equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical, building service, custodial and maintenance work in recreation facilities.
• Maintain ice arena water chemistry and ice operations.
• Install and maintain ice-related equipment; perform minor construction and repairs.
