Job summary

YMCA BC in Prince George is seeking an Ice Attendant to maintain a safe skating environment at Elksentre Arena and Kin 2 Arena. The role involves assisting guests with skating equipment, enforcing facility rules, and delivering friendly customer service.

This part-time, temporary position offers 4-24 hours per week with start ASAP and end date March 28, 2027, at a rate of $20.50 per hour. Candidates must be 18+, hold First Aid with CPR C, have transportation, and be able to provide references

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid Standard First Aid with CPR C certificate.
  • Have access to reliable transportation.
  • Successful candidate will provide 3 satisfactory references.
  • Successful candidates will provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ice rules are being followed.
  • Support rental shop and skate sharpening when needed.
  • Perform first aid when required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to school groups and members of the public, assisting with any questions or concerns.
  • Perform opening and closing tasks.
  • Complete all checklists, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
  • May also be trained as a cashier.

Location: Elksentre Arena -4833 Heather Rd, Prince George, BC V2K 5Y3

Kin 2 Arena - 2181 Ospika Boulevard, Prince George BC V2N6Z1

Terms: Part-Time, Temporary

Hours: 4-24 hours per week

Shift: Shifts vary and include weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Programs run Monday to Sunday.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: March 28, 2027

Salary: $20.50 per hour

Reports To: Supervisor, Skating Services
