Job summary

University of Calgary is seeking a Full-time Limited Term Specialist, Identity and Access Management, to lead planning, design, deployment and maintenance of IAM services across on-premises and cloud environments. The role reports to the Manager, Identity and Messaging.

The successful candidate will manage identity projects, support federated systems such as Entra ID, Shibboleth IdP and OpenLDAP, and ensure incident/status communication across IT stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree required preferably in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) would be an asset.
• Professional training and/or certification in Entra ID, Microsoft Identity Manager, Active Directory, and OpenLDAP are assets.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, C# .NET, and Java development is desirable.
• Foundation certification of ITIL v is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to federated identity systems including Entra ID, Shibboleth IdP and Central Authentication Service.
• Provide support to directory services including Active Directory and OpenLDAP.
• Provide support to IAM systems including account life cycle and compliance using Microsoft Identity Manager.
• Develop policies/procedures for identity technologies and identify automation opportunities.
• Plan roadmaps for cloud-based technologies aligned with organizational strategy.
• Act as technical resource for identity-related client issues and project work.
