Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada seeks an Estimator and Proposal Manager to prepare technical and commercial bids for turnkey hydroelectric projects. You will collaborate with specialists, ensure submission quality, and report to the Director - Proposals and Estimates.

The role requires leadership, multitasking, and strong negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering Technology diploma, 5+ years in proposal-related roles, and fluency in French and English.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years of experience in proposal/sales or construction.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Project management: handle multiple complex tasks daily.
• Strong oral and written communication in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Proven leadership within a team context.
• Commercial contract knowledge and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of hydroelectric products/market is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specs, and commercial/technical tender clauses.
• Contribute to bid strategy, risk assessment, and clarifications.
• Prepare RFQs to suppliers/subcontractors and follow up on responses.
• Develop risk and opportunity matrices for bids.
• Create bid activity schedules and coordinate stakeholders.
• Lead internal bid meetings per management processes.
• Draft preliminary project schedules and manpower curves.
• Perform technical/financial calculations, cash flow, and cost coding.
• Write sections of proposals in French and English.
• Support decision-making and negotiate with external partners.
• Ensure smooth transition from bid to delivery team.
