Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada is seeking an experienced HSE Project Coordinator to support bidding, preparation, and on-site safety across Canada. You will work with Project Manager and Installation Coordinators to ensure a safe work environment and compliant operations on hydroelectric projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in active HSE roles, a university degree in Health and Safety, and strong auditing and training skills. Travel and flexible scheduling are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an active HSE role within a construction or industrial environment.
• University degree in Health and Safety or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations and industry standards.
• Experience dealing with unionized environments and on-site construction.
• Strong communication skills at all organizational levels and proven training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support HSE management and safety instruction implementation across projects.
• Collaborate with project teams to prepare HSE reports and statistics.
• Assist hazard identification, risk assessments, and control measures.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
• Coordinate safety meetings, communications, and awareness initiatives.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Deliver HSE orientation and on-site training; coordinate required safety training.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, drills, first aid, and fire protection programs.
• Recommend corrective actions for HSE deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
