Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada in Peterborough is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the hydro generator engineering group. You will design and optimize mechanical components for North American generator projects, from concept through manufacturing and commissioning, in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in Engineering and aims for PE registration, with strong MathCAD and Excel skills and willingness to travel to sites and offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
• Existing or potential for Professional Engineer registration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MathCAD and Excel for engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components for hydro generator projects.
• Conduct stress, heat transfer, ventilation, vibration, and bearing analyses.
• Create documentation for proposals, technical reports and manuals.
• Review drawings and ensure contractual and internal requirements are met.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists; travel to sites as needed.
