Job summary

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing is seeking an Assembly Technician to take projects from blueprint to reality in a heavy fabrication environment.

You will assemble hydraulic cylinders and swivels, perform troubleshooting and safety tests, and ensure high-quality parts on schedule while maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. A minimum of 3 years of related experience and strong safety knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in manufacturing or welding
• In-depth knowledge of tools and equipment in steel fabrication and welding operations
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures

Who Are You?

Reporting to the General Foreman, the Assembly Technician applies their experience and passion for precision manufacturing to take projects from blueprint to reality.

What you will do:

• Disassembly and assembly of hydraulic cylinders and swivels
• Troubleshooting
• Safety testing
• Complete projects carefully, without unnecessarily wasting material and/or resources
• Process improvement
• Produce high quality parts on schedule
• Perform weekly maintenance and cleaning
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained through submission of Maintenance Request Forms to the Maintenance Department
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment at all times
• Practice safety in the work place at all times to ensure he or she does not endanger oneself
• Comply with all safety rules and practices as set by Occupational Health and Safety, WBM and any and all other relevant safety regulations and requirements
• Daily pre-shift inspections on any and all equipment that will be used during the shift and inspection results will be recorded in log book
• Will regularly check all work tools and equipment and shall take out of service any tool or equipment that poses a hazard due to a need for repairs.
• Perform other duties as required
• A minimum of 3years of related experience
• In-depth knowledge of all tools and equipment in steel fabrication and welding operations
• In-depth knowledge of safety practices
• Overhead Crane Experience is an asset
• Trades ticket/Red Seal is an asset
• Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
• Interpersonal skills work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
• Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all expected deadlines
• Organizational skills to plan out and coordinate his or her work in a logical manner
• Analytical skills to identify problems and find a solution, or seek advice from the supervisor
