Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking an experienced Worker’s Compensation Case Manager to support employees and employers when workers are off work or at risk of being off work for occupational or non-occupational health reasons. You will assess barriers to return-to-work and coordinate with stakeholders to implement effective strategies.

Qualified candidates have a Ontario Paralegal license and 5+ years in disability or occupational injury case management, with strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• : Ontario Law Society Paralegal License in good standing is a MUST HAVE requirement.
• : 5+ years comprehensive experience in Disability Case Management and/or Occupational Injury Case Management or combination of experience and specialized education
• : Background education/course work in occupational health, rehabilitation, disability management, HR management or related fields would be an asset
• : Registration or professional status within disability management or professional health sector would be an asset
• : Strong communication skills with exceptional customer service focus
• : Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to be solutions oriented
• : Ability to work independently in fast paced environment
• : Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint

Responsibilities

• Ensure the overall management of complex occupational injury cases for clients in a matrix team environment.
• Guide clients through continuous improvement to reduce the impact of injuries on performance and costs.
• Advise clients on maintaining employment relationships and accompany them during workplace visits as part of rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies for managing disputes.
• Help expand services by proposing solutions to improve OHS management practices (training, medical assessments, prevention, legal services, outsourcing, ergonomics).
