Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Consultant for PC&T Governance & Controls in Toronto. You will support control testing, sustainability testing, and audits (SOX/ICFR), helping ensure risks are mitigated and governance, risk, and compliance requirements are met.

You’ll work with cross-functional partners to enhance control frameworks and reporting. You will assess control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend improvements that support continuous improvement across the organization, with 1–3 days on-site

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in audit, risk, or governance with strong knowledge of financial reporting controls (SOX/ICFR).
Experience evaluating design and operating effectiveness of controls and reporting results.
Ability to identify gaps, suggest improvements, and support control lifecycle from design to decommissioning.

Responsibilities

Support control testing and sustainability testing across the business.
Assist internal and external audits, including SOX and ICFR.
Prepare control-based compliance reports and manage multiple priorities to deliver timely insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to strengthen control management and documentation.
