Job summary

Liberty Mutual Canada is seeking a Principal Risk Engineer for Energy & Renewables to lead risk engineering strategy across energy portfolios and mentor team members. You will advise underwriting and clients, develop guidelines, and build strong stakeholder relationships across Canada.

The role supports a hybrid work model with travel within Canada and to the U.S., and requires extensive energy sector expertise and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in energy, power generation, or renewables risk engineering.
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience; professional credentials are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk engineering strategy across energy portfolios and set best-in-class standards.
• Manage complex energy accounts including renewables, conventional generation, BESS, transmission and distribution.
• Provide technical advisory to underwriting, claims, brokers and clients with actionable recommendations.

15+ years energy/risk engineering

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

P.Eng. designation preferred

Professional credentials (CPCU/CRM/ARM/CRE/CSP/CIP/PMP/CMRP)
