Job summary

Cognizant in Toronto. We are seeking an experienced Lead Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-scale mainframe applications. You will work with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, and VSAM to support critical business systems and resolve defects promptly.

Hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in an office, with flexibility and strong emphasis on work-life balance and wellbeing programs. Experience with XML, SAS, and TIBCO integrations is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in COBOL/CICS/JCL with DB2.
• Proven ability to design and maintain complex mainframe applications.
• Experience with XML, SAS, and TIBCO integrations.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mainframe applications and system enhancements.
• Develop and maintain programs using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, and VSAM.
• Work with XML, SAS applications, and TIBCO integrations to support enterprise data processing needs.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and system integration activities.
• Support production systems by troubleshooting issues and resolving defects promptly.
