Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS, and related mainframe technologies, with a proven ability to support critical business systems, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and implement mainframe applications and system enhancements.

What you need to have to be considered

• Strong experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2 development.
• Hands-on expertise in IMS DB/DC, VSAM, TSO, and Host/Mainframe environments.
• Experience designing and developing complex mainframe applications.
• Proficiency working with XML and enterprise data integration solutions.
• Knowledge of SAS and SAS-based applications within a mainframe ecosystem.
• Experience with Mainframe Automation Testing tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with TIBCO integration technologies and middleware platforms.

Total compensation

- We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 71100- CAD 112000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
