Job summary

CoFoMo Inc. in Canada seeks an experienced mainframe developer to lead end-to-end Cobol solutions from analysis to production. You will design, implement, and deliver applications in a mainframe environment, coordinating with stakeholders and guiding priorities to meet commitments.

Ideal candidates bring Cobol and mainframe expertise, Endevor and Zeke proficiency, and a solid grasp of Agile/DevOps with automation and production-support experience. Insurance industry knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

Proven experience in end-to-end application development in a structured environment.
Strong knowledge of mainframe environments and Cobol development.
Experience with mainframe tools such as Endevor and Zeke; log analysis skills.
Understanding of insurance industry and translating business needs into technical solutions.
Mastery of Agile and DevOps practices including automation and production support.

Responsibilities

Take charge of end-to-end development files, from needs analysis to production
Design and develop application solutions in a mainframe environment, considering business issues
Act as the main point of contact for certain files and ensure coordination with stakeholders
Mobilize employees, advance work and ensure priorities and commitments are met
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, including code reviews, standards, testing, and automation
Actively participate in the organization of the team, anticipate blockages and propose concrete solutions
Support releases, application stability, and complex incident resolution
