The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) is seeking a Professional Development Lawyer to advance member services through high-quality CPD programs and tools. This hybrid role will engage with members and staff, draft program descriptions, coordinate with speakers and chairs, and help shape pricing, timing and regional delivery across Ontario.

Qualifications

• Bar licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Five or more years of experience in practice, government, professional development, or consulting.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong writing and editing abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to engage peers and clients in the legal community and multitask under timelines.
• Willingness to attend early morning, evening, or weekend meetings; familiarity with meeting planning and distance learning is a plus.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
• Staff management experience is an asset.
• Adult education or legal marketing experience is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and build relationships with OBA volunteers, members, practitioners and stakeholders.
• Monitor legal trends and gather information on legislative, judicial and practice developments.
• Conduct legal research for development of professional development programming.
• Collaborate with Section Executives and committees to plan PD activities.
• Provide support to volunteers, speakers, and program chairs.
• Provide member-facing practice-area information services.
• Coordinate with events team to deliver programs and regional events outside Toronto when needed.
• Draft program descriptions, marketing content, and training materials.
• Evaluate programs after delivery to identify improvements.
• Work with marketing to plan campaigns and ensure accreditation where possible.
