Job summary

University of Alberta is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Associate to join the HR Partnership team. This term position is up to 24 months and hybrid, with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.

The HRA supports HR Partners and SHRP in delivering practical HR generalist services across faculties and departments. The role works in a large, complex, and unionized setting, advising on policies, employment practices, and HR processes for both academic and non-academic

Qualifications

• Experience in a HR generalist role within a large, unionized environment.
• Ability to advise on HR policies, processes and employment practices.
• Strong collaboration with leaders, administrators and HR colleagues.
• Experience supporting both academic and non-academic employee groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, practical HR generalist support to assigned faculties and departments.
• Develop collaborative relationships with leaders and administrators to deliver HR services.
• Navigate collective agreements and policies with guidance from HR Partners and SHRP.
• Support HR Partners and SHRP on more complex files and escalate as needed.
