Job summary

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. is seeking a General Claims Adjuster for the Technical Services Team in a hybrid role based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The successful candidate will evaluate multi-line claims with a focus on property (commercial and personal lines) and negotiate settlements in line with provincial licensing requirements. The role offers an annual base salary in the range of CAD 87,000 to CAD 124,000, plus a professional bonus plan, car allowance and mileage reimbursement,

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims and liability.
• Ideal candidate will have a construction and property background specializing in project management, quantification and appraisal.
• Commercial policy interpretation and experience making recommendations to the market.
• Licensed or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports.
• Selects and directs independent experts.
• Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities.
• Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets.
• Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in Crawford & Company and client based systems.
• Maintains accurate expense accounts and client relations.
• Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators.
